Crop drying for cassava farmers
With ASU EPICS and Institut Teknologi Bandung, we designed an affordable hybrid-energy dryer so Indonesian farmers can cut cassava spoilage. I served as Budget Lead, Prototyping Co-Lead, and Software Co-Lead — web server, heating control, and sensor data.
The prototype hit 60°C and a 50% water reduction in under two days. On site in Bali, Jakarta, and Bandung we visited drying greenhouses, talked with farmers, and ran an international design review against real climate, not a lab assumption.
Empathy, cultural understanding, and teamwork are not extras. They’re how the engineering actually works.
